We are always looking for new volunteers to get involved.
We encourage anyone from the whole community to apply – from those with little to no experience in life to others with a lifetime of experience and wisdom to share (and everyone in between!).
We provide training to enable you to better support sensory impaired people in your chosen role.
Not only does volunteering look great on your CV but it has a wide range of benefits.
We have a range of specific volunteering opportunities, some listed below. If you feel you would be a good fit for one of the roles then please get in touch.
Or if you have other skills or experience that you think would benefit our clients, do let us know. You may well have a skill/talent that we don’t yet know we need!
If you are interested in volunteering with us, please get in touch with our Volunteer Co-ordinator on 01738 626969 or by email on info@visionpk.org.uk.
Having a great team of volunteers allows us to offer much more to those with a sensory impairment than we would otherwise be able to, they support a range of activities. Our volunteers are a vital asset, bringing to VisionPK a diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience.
Volunteers bring with them new ideas, opinions and approaches, which can help to inform the development and delivery of activities and projects going forward.
Volunteers are advocates for the work we do at VisionPK, raising awareness about our cause, our profile and what we do, allowing us to reach more beneficiaries.
The benefits of volunteering are extensive, providing vital support to our clients, our charity and the community of Perth and Kinross. But did you know that the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer?
Studies generally show that those who volunteer are happier and healthier than non-volunteers. The boost to your mental health can be life-changing. Here are some of the ways that volunteering can help you:
“I get as much back from my volunteering with VisionPK as I give to anyone. Here, the policy of meeting your full potential has allowed me to feel a full member of the team and I have been able to hand over tasks to others as my sight has deteriorated and carry on with the jobs that I can do without risk. I always think back to when it was first suggested that I might like to help at VisionPK. I have never regretted that decision.”
VisionPK holds fundraising collections at supermarkets and shopping centres throughout the year.
