We run a number of social groups within communities throughout Perth and Kinross. Groups are supported by staff and volunteers. You can take part in activities, find out about your local community and meet a great bunch of people.

Knit and Natter Social Group

Date: Thursday 6th August & Thursday 3rd September Time: 1:15 – 2.45pm

A friendly social group where people can relax, knit, chat and connect with others over a warm drink and good company. No knitting experience required, skills will be shared.

Drumtastic

Date: Wednesdays 12th, 19th & 26th August Time: 1:15 – 2:45pm   VisionPK Sensory Hub

An upbeat and energetic drumming session bringing rhythm, movement, laughter and smiles to the group – no experience necessary.

Boccia – Taster Session

Date: Thursday 20th August & Friday 18th September Time: 1:15 – 2:45pm

Boccia is a fun and inclusive game played with balls that can be rolled or thrown towards the jack ball.

Accessible Swimming Club

Date: Tuesdays from 25th August (weekly) Time: 12:00 – 1:00pm   Location: Perth Leisure Pool

A supported swim and Aqua Fit session helping people build confidence, keep active and enjoy the water in a supported way. Bookings for the block must be made in advance and a charge applies to attend.

Woodland Walk

Date: Thursday 27th August Time: 10:30 – 14:30

Location: Taymount Woods, Stanley

A gentle woodland walk led by the West Stormont Woodland Group, giving people a supported way to get outdoors and enjoy nature. Transport spaces from Perth city centre are limited – contact us early to book a seat, or for directions if making your own way.

Blairgowrie

In Blairgowrie we have a group which has been running for years thanks to the commitment of a wonderful team of volunteers.

Our Blairgowrie group is open to anyone in the community who has sight loss. The volunteer team put together a programme of activities and deliver sessions once a month.

The group has occasional guest speakers, do quizzes, chair exercise and have outings to places of interest or to have lunch as a group.

The group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30am to 12noon, in Blairgowrie Parish Church Hall, James Street, PH10 6EZ.

A friendly, six-week course for people with sight and/or hearing loss and their carers/family/friends.

Build confidence, strengthen everyday skills, and find community support. Hear from VisionPK staff, CAB, Mindspace and Lead Scotland.
