Drop-in Services at Crieff Community Hospital (currently suspended)

For people living in the Crieff area, our drop-in service is available on the first Wednesday of each month at Crieff Community Hospital, King Street, Crieff from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The NHS Hearing Aid drop-in clinic, offering a free re-tubing and replacement battery service, runs at the same time (please remember to take your yellow book to receive hearing aid batteries).

No appointment is necessary for either service.

Hearing Aid Clinic (currently suspended)

A FREE drop-in hearing aid clinic offering a re-tubing and replacement battery service is available across Perth & Kinross. This clinic is part of a Tayside-wide service offered by specially trained volunteers.

The volunteers are trained by NHS Tayside’s Audiology Service and can replace the tubing in ear moulds and provide replacement batteries for NHS hearing aid users. Unfortunately, volunteers are unable to re-tube open fit aids which have the thin wire with tip in ear.

It is important that hearing aid users bring along their yellow book as this is required to be produced to receive batteries.

Perth & Kinross drop-in clinics for the re-tubing of mould type hearing aids and replacement battery service are currently held at:

  • Aberfeldy Library, first Friday of every month, 10am-noon
  • Auchterarder Library, Chapel Wynd, Auchterarder, second Thursday of every month, 10am-noon
  • Blairgowrie Community Hospital, last Wednesday of every month, 2-4pm
  • Crieff Community Hospital, first Wednesday of every month, 1.30-3.30pm
  • Kinross-shire Day Centre, 64 High Street, Kinross, first Monday of every month, 11am-noon
  • Pitlochry Community Hospital, first Tuesday of every month, 10am-noon
  • Vision PK, 174 High Street, Perth, first Wednesday of every month, 10am-noon

Patient Support Service (currently suspended)

In partnership with NHS Tayside, VisionPK has a presence at the Low Vision Aid Clinic at Perth Royal Infirmary. Timely and individual support can be offered to individuals attending the Clinic. This service was developed in light of evidence suggesting the need for early support for people with sight loss.

Support can include:

  • Emotional support
  • Listening to concerns expressed by patients, families and carers
  • Providing information
  • Demonstrating and supplying patients with small aids
  • Referring potential and existing patients for additional support from VisionPK.
