We run a number of social groups within communities throughout Perth and Kinross. Groups are supported by staff and volunteers. You can take part in activities, find out about your local community and meet a great bunch of people.

 

Activities

We have lots of events planned during September. Some will be held at the Sensory Hub and others are within the community. We are keen to hear from you – what activities would you like us to look at offering? Please ensure you book onto activities where it does advise booking as places are limited.

Swimming Group: Start of new block

Dates: 26 August – 7 October Time: 11:00am-12:00pm

Location: Perth Leisure Pool

New 7-week block. Accessible swimming for all levels. Join us for steady lengths or confidence building in the water. Please book onto these sessions by calling VisionPK – there is a charge for the swimming, please contact for more information.

Social Group with guest speaker (Phillip from U3A)

Date: Tuesday 9 September Time: 1.15-2.30pm

Location: VisionPK, 17-19 George Street

Details: Phillip returns to start our new talk series. He has previously covered history, poetry, and other interesting topics. Come along and have your say on what we’ll cover over the coming months.

Social Café and Games Group

Date: Tuesday 16 September  Time: 1.00-2.00pm

Location: VisionPK, 17-19 George Street

Details: Chat over a cuppa and try dominoes, cards and board games. A friendly and fun session for all.

 

Chairtastic Taster Session

Date: Wednesday 24 September Time: 1.15-2.30pm

Location: VisionPK, 17-19 George Street

Details: Following last month’s Drumtastic, we’re trying Chairtastic- gentle, chair-based movement to music using pompoms, hoops, scarves, and more. Fun, upbeat and suitable for everyone.

Live Music Performance (Derek Richardson)

Date: Thursday 30 September Time: 1.15-2.30pm

Location: VisionPK, 17-19 George Street

Details: Derek will be returning with a wide selection of instruments for us all to enjoy. He plays pipes, whistle, guitar and mandolin, among others. Come along and enjoy some live music.

NHS Tayside volunteer-led hearing aid drop-in clinic VisionPK sensory hub: Wednesday 3rd September 10.00am-12.00pm

Employment Support drop-in VisionPK sensory hub: Friday 5th September 1.00-3.00pm

Blairgowrie

In Blairgowrie we have a group which has been running for years thanks to the commitment of a wonderful team of volunteers.

Our Blairgowrie group is open to anyone in the community who has sight loss. The volunteer team put together a programme of activities and deliver sessions once a month.

The group has occasional guest speakers, do quizzes, chair exercise and have outings to places of interest or to have lunch as a group.

The group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30am to 12noon, in Blairgowrie Parish Church Hall, James Street, PH10 6EZ.
