Is to support the empowerment of people with a sensory impairment to take a full and fulfilling role in society and to help them to achieve the personal outcomes they aspire to, building on the success of almost 150 years of being around to help.
We will do this by continuing to provide and develop our comprehensive range of services and support for people with a visual impairment, whilst seeking appropriate opportunities to facilitate or provide support and/or services for people with a hearing impairment.
We work in partnership with a range of statutory, voluntary and other organisations so that our service users get the most comprehensive package of support that can be put together.
Increasingly we work with organisations that support people with a hearing impairment, particularly as many of our existing clients have dual sensory impairments. We favour greater integration of both areas of support whilst recognising their respective specialisms.
We provide a specialist social work service for visually impaired people on behalf of Perth & Kinross Council.
We are an entirely independent charity with a uniquely local focus. We are not a subsidiary of any national organisation and therefore rely greatly on support from our local community.
