VisionPK have launched two new videos highlighting their vital services and how they can benefit people with sensory loss in Perth & Kinross.
The videos, produced in collaboration with RNID (Royal National Institute for Deaf People), detail the support available from VisionPK for people with vision or hearing loss and how important that help can be to maintaining independence.
Also highlighted are the great partnership links that go into making the hearing loss service at VisionPK such a success. With contributions from VisionPK, RNID, Perth & Kinross Council and the Scottish Fire and Safety Service, the video is clear about the benefits to those who are deaf or having a hearing loss across the local community.
Rhona Campbell, Hearing Loss Support Worker with VisionPK agrees. “It is fantastic for the people of Perth & Kinross that we have this service available to them to get support if they are deaf or are experiencing hearing loss. There is so much available to them from specialised support, equipment and advice; a whole host of measures to help people maintain their independence.
“Hearing loss is something that you might not be aware of at first and it’s likely to be friends or family who will notice you’re not following the conversation or are turning the telly up louder and louder. What I’d say is, get in touch with VisionPK as the simple things we can help with really can make a difference.”
In the films, clients with both hearing loss and vision loss share their experiences of working with VisionPK and how the equipment and support they have received has had a life changing effect on them and their families.
